These 135 charts were created between 1955 and 1957 by CGS members to document their family history research and bound into two volumes that are in the library collection. Each chart is typed or handwritten onto a form from the California State Society, Daughters of the American Revolution consisting of a 4-generation pedigree chart and in most cases several pages listing all the children of families on the charts with birthdates, their marriage partners, and death dates.. Some also have biographical sketches or anecdotes about individuals from these families. There are few if any citations to sources for the information.
CGS volunteers have scanned the books and grouped each chart with its additional pages into a PDF file, one for each chart. Volunteers have created an every-name index that is presented below grouped by the surname initial. Each entry consists of a person’s surname, given name, a date, usually the year of birth, and the chart in which the person was found. Charts are named for the person who is the root person of the chart; where that’s a married woman her pre-marriage name is used when known. The last are links, click one to view it in your browser. Entries are sorted by surname, given name, and date. The index viewer is searchable; depending on your browser that may appear as a magnifying glass icon in the viewer’s toolbar; if not you can use the normal hotkey (ctrl-F/cmd-F).
